Research compound supplied in Australia by Pulse Biolabs for laboratory use. Available in 600mg, 1500mg.
Cells constantly make reactive molecules and constantly neutralise them. Glutathione is the most abundant molecule doing the neutralising.
Glutathione is a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine that cells make for themselves and use to neutralise reactive molecules produced by normal metabolism. It is studied because the balance between its reduced and oxidised forms is a standard measure of oxidative stress, and because whether supplied glutathione reaches cells intact is unresolved. Human evidence is limited to small trials of oral glutathione in healthy adults measuring blood levels, not outcomes.
