I’ve always been fascinated by how things work.
My background is in engineering and consulting, so I naturally tend to look beneath the surface — break systems apart, understand the mechanics, question assumptions and follow the evidence.
During a career sabbatical, that curiosity increasingly turned towards biology.
I started going deeper into peptides, cellular signalling and the science behind how incredibly complex biological systems interact. One paper led to another, one compound to another, and what began as personal curiosity quickly became a much larger research project.
The more I learned, the more interested I became — not only in the compounds themselves, but in understanding where the evidence came from, how the science was evolving and where genuine research ended and marketing or hype began.
My engineering background shaped the way I approached the field.
That same mindset quickly extended to quality.
A product is only the final output of a much larger system — sourcing, manufacturing, handling, documentation, testing and verification.
I wanted to understand what sat behind it.
That focus on quality became just as important to me as the research itself.
Pulse started much smaller.
Initially, it was a way for me to share access, research and what I was learning with a close circle of friends who were equally curious.
But I kept running into the same problem.
Actually understanding something properly meant piecing together information from dozens of different sources.
So I started building the platform I wished existed when I began.

Pulse grew out of that idea.

I believe peptides, cellular signalling and the broader science of human biology will be an incredibly important area of research in the years ahead.
